The basic structure of LCD panels

Liquid crystal panel includes polarizing film, glass substrate, black matrix, color filter, protective film, common electrode, calibration layer, liquid crystal layer (liquid crystal, spacer, sealant), capacitor, display electrode, prism layer, and astigmatism layer.

Polarization film is also called polarizer (Polarizer), polarizer is divided into upper polarizer and lower polarizer, the polarization function of upper and lower polarizer is perpendicular to each other, and its function

It is like a fence that blocks the light wave component as required, for example, blocking the light wave component that is perpendicular to the polarizer fence and allowing only the light wave component that is parallel to the fence to pass.

Glass substrate (GlassSubstrate) in the LCD can be divided into the upper substrate and the lower substrate, its main role is to hold the liquid crystal material between the two substrate spacing space. The material of the glass substrate generally uses excellent mechanical properties, heat and chemical corrosion resistance of alkali-free borosilicate glass. For TFT-LCD, a layer of glass substrate is distributed with TFT, and another layer of glass substrate is deposited with color filters.

The black matrix (BlackMatrix) is used to separate the red, green, and blue primary colors in the color filter (to prevent color confusion) and to prevent light leakage, thus contributing to the improvement of the contrast of each color block with the help of materials with high light blocking properties. In addition, in TFT-LCD, the black matrix can also mask the internal electrode alignment or thin film transistors.

ColorFilter, also known as color filter film, is used to generate red, green and blue light to achieve full-color display of LCDs.

AlignmentLayer, also known as alignment film or orientation layer, is used to enable uniform alignment and orientation of liquid crystal molecules at the microscopic size level.

TransparentElectrode is divided into a common electrode and a pixel electrode, and the input signal voltage is loaded between the pixel electrode and the common electrode. Transparent electrodes are usually made by depositing indium tin oxide (ITO) material on a glass substrate to form a transparent conductive layer.

LiquidCrystalMaterial plays a role similar to that of a light valve in an LCD, which controls the light and darkness of the transmitted light to achieve the effect of information display.
