SIKO’s bus position indicators are at the heart of monitoring format settings and are now an integral part of mechanical engineering. Their ability to display the set and actual values on the adjustment spindle to the machine operator greatly enhances the operator comfort of the installer. This makes the job of retrofitting a production machine to a new product as easy as possible. At the same time, the machine control unit receives feedback on the positioning status, thus increasing the safety of the production process during the product specification changeover and further reducing the setup time. Incorrect setups are prevented, thus avoiding scrap and tool damage. In short, increased efficiency and reduced setup time.
An important new element of the AP10 is the reversed backlight LCD display. This backlit display ensures that position values can be read clearly even in difficult-to-see locations or in low ambient lighting conditions. the LCD is designed as a fourteen-segment display with two rows and six interfaces. This allows for high display accuracy even when the adjustment path is long. The fourteen-segment display can also clearly display alphanumeric characters, simplifying parameter setting, commissioning and troubleshooting.
In addition to the rotating arrows on the LCD display, the AP10 position indicator is equipped with two-color LED status indicators on each side to provide clear and intuitive user guidance. The AP10 provides loop positioning to compensate for mechanical spindle play.
Like other SIKO position indicators, the AP10 has a hollow shaft and can be mounted very simply on a commercially available adjustment shaft. The torque arm dimensions and distance dimensions are compatible with the world’s best-selling SIKO instrument, the DA09S. This means that it is possible to change from manual adjustment by means of a mechanical position indicator to the use of the AP05 to monitor the conversion of product specifications without changing the frame. Thanks to the protection class up to IP65 and the use of a stainless steel hollow shaft, the AP10 can also be used in the food sector, beverage production or the pharmaceutical industry.
