With 8K LCD TVs, 8K OLED TVs and 8K Micro LEDs hitting the market one after another, the TV market has entered the 8K era. 8K will provide a stage for different display technologies to play, and the laser display technology, which is not willing to lag behind, will also join the 8K TV ranks. In 2021, 8K laser TV will be launched. These four display technologies, in the end, who is more suitable for 8K?
Laser TV has more advantages in size, power consumption, color gamut, integration into the home environment and other four aspects, is the best technology carrier to achieve 8K display.
First, laser TV has the advantage of large size. In about 3 meters to watch 75-inch 8K TV, the human eye is difficult to distinguish its clarity, so 8K applications in oversized TVs can show its value more. LCD TV to reach more than 100 inches or 120 inches is more difficult, or the cost will increase with the size of the surge, but the laser TV size is easy to achieve more than 100 inches, so more than 100 inches size 8K laser TV may be a better choice for home TV.
Second, the laser TV’s lower power consumption. LCD TV or Micro LED TV will increase with the size of the increase in resolution and a significant increase in power consumption, more than 100 inches 8K LCD TV or Micro LED TV power consumption may need several kilowatts, but the power consumption of laser TV will not necessarily be positively correlated with power consumption or size. Third, the color gamut value of laser TV is higher. The high color gamut in the BT.2020 standard is defined with reference to tricolor laser, so tricolor laser TV is the only display technology that fully meets the international standard BT.2020 for ultra-high-definition display, which is more advantageous than LCD TV, Micro LED TV and OLED TV in terms of color gamut.
Fourth, the laser TV is easier to integrate into the home environment. 120-inch to 150-inch LCD TV or Micro LED TV like a wall, need to give a large enough placement space. Although large OLED TVs can be curled, but due to the high difficulty of mass production, it is still difficult to see curled TVs on the market. Laser TV is not the same, laser TV host and display curtain separation, display curtain is a passive non-luminous screen, easier to achieve curl, can be better integrated with the home environment.
