Three ways of connector assembly

Machining center (referred to as machining) will get the connector drawings and then choose the right machine tool to process the connector bulk parts, including the center pin, outer conductor, insulator, etc. The equipment used for different sizes of parts varies. There are many types of machine processing equipment, classified according to the number of major working parts, can be divided into single-axis, multi-axis, single or multi-tool machine tools. According to the classification of the specific CNC function of the machine tool, it can be divided into ordinary machine tools, CNC machine tools, machining centers and flexible manufacturing units and intelligent production line machine tools.

In the machining center, a copper bar of various sizes is fed in from one end of the machining equipment, and what comes out is the required bulk part. Standardized operations and strict dimensional tolerance control ensure consistency of size. The machined bulk parts are sent to the plating workshop through post-treatment quenching and cleaning, which is the last step before the finished product is assembled.

As cost requirements continue to rise, a number of new processes have been introduced into product processing in addition to mechanical processing. For small size shells and center pins, the punch and roll process can be better adapted to batch production; integrated injection molding enables long line mass production of insulators; unlike punch and roll, the deep drawing process provides a more reliable mechanical structure while ensuring the advantages of molded production and is being chosen by manufacturers. With the continuous advancement of technology, it is believed that more new processes will be introduced into the connector processing process in the future, for the sustainable development of the connector to inject vitality.

In the connector assembly process, there are three mainstream assembly methods, namely, fully manual assembly, semi-automatic assembly, fully automated assembly. Each assembly method has its own advantages, and not manual assembly will be eliminated. Full manual assembly line flexible, responsive, with suitable for short-line demand, a small number of orders using manual assembly is the most appropriate way. Semi-automatic assembly is compatible, usually can meet a variety of product production, suitable for labor-intensive, but the production cycle is not continuous production, greatly reducing the labor intensity of workers, improve efficiency. Fully automated assembly process consistency, stable and efficient output, suitable for high volume long line demand, the cost of automation equipment directly determines whether the product is suitable for automation equipment.
