International Experiences

Trainee International Experience

In the current global environment, it is extremely important for the EBICS students to gain international experiences. EBICS International exchange program enables US students to spend time at one of our international partner institutions. Center faculty and staff help organize a number of domestic and international technical training experiences targeted to graduate students, postdoctoral fellows and junior faculty. These programs not only provide exceptional training, but also the opportunity to network with students and faculty from diverse scientific and engineering backgrounds.

We would like to highlight two international exchange opportunities

Oxford, United Kingdom: University of Oxford, The Wolfson Centre for Mathematical Biology (WCMB)

Potential collaboration topics:

  • Computational modeling of cell population behaviors
  • Analysis of experimental results to quantify emergence

Barcelona, Spain: Institute for Bioengineering of Catalonia (IBEC)

Potential collaboration topics:

  • Role of mechanical stimulation on single cell function
  • Studies of collective cell migration
  • Microfluidic testbeds for organoid development

Please contact Dr. Caley Allen if you are interested in one of the exchanges listed above.
